All 18 of Pennsylvania’s current members of Congress and both of its senators are men, but that will soon change. Eight women, seven Democrats and one Republican, are running for Congress. Yesterday, at Bryn Mawr College, Bibiana Boerio, along with four other candidates participated in the Pennsylvania Women Congressional Candidates Forum, moderated by Kelly Dittmar of the Center for American Women and Politics, Rutgers-New Brunswick.

United Mine Workers of America (UMW)’s National Council of the Coal Miners Political Action Committee (COMPAC) unanimously voted to endorse Bibiana Boerio, the Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 14 th District. The action was taken upon the recommendation of the Pennsylvania State Council of COMPAC.

Boerio’s Efforts Led to Renaming a Local Pennsylvania Post Office after Tuskegee Airman Luther Smith
The son of a Pennsylvania Tuskegee Airman, Gordon Smith, wrote the following open testimony regarding Bibiana Boerio’s efforts to get a local U.S. Post Office named after his father, Luther Smith, in honor of his service as Tuskegee Airman. Luther Smith was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Daughters of the American Revolution 10 years ago today, on July 11, 2008 as well as the Congressional Gold Medal in 2007.
